CHAT Program

The diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer can take a toll on the emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing of women. Through our Connecting Hope, Assistance, and Treatment (CHAT) Program, we provide resources for low-income women with breast cancer who do not have adequate income or insurance to pay for services related to their breast cancer diagnosis. We provide up to $1,200 per calendar year to eligible women to help with the cost of medication, breast prostheses, bras, wigs, compression sleeves, transportation to treatment, childcare during treatment, denture replacement (if due to bone loss resulting from chemotherapy), dressing changes from hospice care, counseling, and other breast cancer-related expenses.

CHAT has provided assistance to hundreds of women. You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • Are diagnosed with breast cancer and/or received treatment within the last five years
  • Live in the state of Massachusetts
  • Have an individual income of $25,000 or less, or a family combined income of $42,000 or less.

If you meet the eligibility requirements and would like to complete an application for the CHAT program, download and complete our CHAT application form and return to us with the required documentation at:

Revamping the CHAT Program – Join a Focus Group!

Currently we are redeveloping the CHAT program so that we can provide more resources and support to those living with breast cancer, as well as to expand our efforts in breast cancer prevention.

We are looking for community members, care providers and breast cancer survivors to share their experiences and help us learn about how the CHAT program can best support breast cancer prevention and treatment efforts. We are most interested in hearing about your experiences with medical care, community resources, and breast cancer prevention resources you feel you need. If this is something you are interested in please click this link and someone will be in contact with you to schedule a time for the focus group or send you the direct link to the survey.

  • Anybody who completes our CHAT program survey will be entered into a raffle for a $50 Target gift card.
  • All those who participate in a focus group will receive a $50 Target gift card.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact Monique Kelly, Program Coordinator at 617-992-1904 or
